Parent dashboard

• New global setting: Administrators may enable or disable the parent module as desired.
• Parent profile: A new profile will appear in Admin > Profiles, which will be the default profile for parent users
• Privacy: The fixed privacy rules are updated to cover parental relationships.
• Mentor menu: A Parents link is added to the mentor menu.
• Mentor: A new child–parent overview is created for the mentor.
• Administration: Administrators are allowed to manually add parents for a learner through the learner's profile.
• Administration: Import parent users via CSV files.
• Administration: Define the level of information available to parents (assessments, behaviour and attendance)
• Administration: Define when final assessments, behaviour assessments and attendance statuses is shown to a parent

• Child dashboard: A dashboard is created for each child, presenting the most important information parents need to know about their child's education and school life.
• Parent content blocks: The following content blocks are available for parents:
  • Activities: Displays activities for the next 7 days.
  • Attendance: Shows the attendance report.
  • Behaviour: Shows the latest remarks on behaviour.
  • Completed activities: Provides a list of completed tasks.
  • Course overview: Lists all courses, with progress indicator and links to reports.
  • Individual learning plans: Shows the current individual learning plan.
  • Projects: Displays a list of the projects in which the child is participating.
  • Tasks: Shows a list of the unfinished tasks in a course.
  • Child details: A content block showing the person profile of the child (always enabled).

All organisations on a site are provided with a common dashboard, but it’s possible to create custom dashboards for each organisation, making it possible to have differentiated dashboards for different schools. If a child is has memberships in multiple organisations with differentiated dashboards, the parent will get one dashboard per organisation.

The summary dashboards can be customised as any other dashboard, including the option to add, remove and rearrange content blocks.

1. Click the Admin tab.
2. Click Edit global settings.
3. Click Features and security.
4. Under Parent dashboard, check the box behind Enable.
5. Click Save.

2. Click Users and access rights.
3. Click the edit icon behind the learner for whom you want to add parents.
4. Click the Parent tab.
5. Click + Parent.
6. Search for the parent or parents, check the box in front of their names, and click Ok.

It is also possible to import a CSV file with parent users. A synchronisation key is mandatory, to connect the parent and child automatically. Read more about importing parent users under this topic.

A model CSV file:

1. Click the Admin tab.
2. Click Edit global settings.
3. Click Features and security.
4. Under Parents, check the boxes for the detailed reports which should be enabled.
5. Click Save.

The following reports are available:

• Show detailed attendance report: The detailed attendance report is available from the person profile and the attendance content block on the child dashboard
• Show detailed assessment report: The assessment record for each course is available from the course list content block and in the person profile
• Show detailed behaviour report: The detailed behaviour report is available from the person profile and the behaviour content block on the child dashboard

Users with the ‘Parent dashboard management’ user right can create and manage parent dashboards. To manage a parent dashboard, do the following:

1. Click the Admin tab.
2. Clicking Manage parent dashboard allows the following elements to be edited:
   • Click on the organisation name to edit an existing parent dashboard.
   • Click Define new to create a new parent dashboard
   • Click on Revert to default to remove the parent dashboard for an organisation and use the default parent dashboard for that organisation instead.
