ePortfolio

1. Click the ePortfolio tab.
2. Click About me.
3. Change or enter information in the fields.
4. Click Save.

1. Click the ePortfolio tab.
2. Click Settings and permissions.
3. Under Settings, find "Include". Uncheck the box in front of "About me" to remove About me from the ePortfolio. Check the box to include About me in the ePortfolio.

1. Click the ePortfolio tab.
2. Click Portfolios.
3. Click New portfolio.
4. You can edit the following options:
   • Title: Enter the title of your portfolio. The title you enter appears in the ePortfolio menu.
   • Description: The description appears as an introduction below the title in your portfolio.
   • Enter short name: The short name is used as the portfolio URL. Enter a short and descriptive name. You can check if the short name is available by clicking Check availability.
   • Skin: Here you can select the appearance, or skin, of your ePortfolio. Click the thumbnail and select a skin from the pop-up window. Visible in ePortfolio menu: If you check this box, the portfolio becomes visible in the ePortfolio. It is smart to leave this option unchecked if you do not want to publish the portfolio in your ePortfolio yet.
5. Who can access your portfolio?: Here you decide who can see this specific portfolio:
   • Only me: Visible for you only. No other users can see your portfolio.
   • Your courses and projects: Visible for the participants in your courses and projects.
   • All users of this site: Visible for the participants and users at your site.
   • Available on the Internet: Your portfolio is publicly available on the Internet.
6. Click Save.

1. Click the ePortfolio tab.
2. Click Portfolios.
3. Click the portfolio you want to add categories to.
4. Click the Categories tab.
5. To add a category, click Add new row. Repeat this step to add more categories.
6. Fill in the following fields:
   • Title: Enter the category title. The title you enter here appears as a category heading in the ePortfolio menu.
   • Folder name: The short name is used as the category URL.
   • Description: Add a category description. The description appears as an introduction below the title in your portfolio.
7. Click Save.

2. Click Portfolios.
3. Click the portfolio you want to add content to.
4. Fill in the following fields:
   • Title: The title appears as a heading above the content you add.
   • Description: In the description field you enter the content you want to display in the portfolio.
   • Category: Choose a category. To add a category, see "Adding categories" above.
   • Files: Click Upload file to upload a file.
5. Click Save.

Content you create in a portfolio can easily be copied to other portfolios in your ePortfolio.  

1. Click the ePortfolio tab.
2. Click Portfolios.
3. Click the portfolio you want to copy content from.
4. Check the box in front of the content you want to copy. You may copy multiple content at the same time.
5. Click Copy.
6. Select the portfolio to copy the content to from the drop-down list.
7. Click Copy elements.

itslearning allows you to export your portfolios. This means that you can store the portfolios on your computer and upload them to another web site, for example a private homepage.

1. Click the ePortfolio tab.
2. Click Portfolios.
3. Click the portfolio you want to export.
4. Click the Export tab.
5. Click Start new export. It may take a couple of minutes to complete the export. Click the Refresh button to update the status. When the status changes from "Pending" to "Completed" the export is finished.
6. Click the export date to download a zip file with the exported portfolio.

Note: You can only have three backups. When you have three backups, exporting causes the oldest backup to be overwritten. You must finish exporting an item before you can export another one.

1. Click the ePortfolio tab.
2. Click Blog.
3. Click Add.
4. Enter a title.
5. Enter some text.
6. Click Save.

The blog settings allows you to customise your blog by changing name, access permissions and so on. To edit the blog settings:

1. Click the ePortfolio tab.
2. Click Blog.
3. Click Edit blog settings in the top right corner.

You can edit the following settings:

Settings	Description
Title	By default, the name of your blog is "Your blog". You are free to change the title in the title field to a more personal title.
Show at most	Here you can select the number of entries shown on the blog main page. From the drop-down list, choose whether to show the entries from a given time span, or a specific number of entries. Older blog entries are archived.
Notification e-mail address	If you want to be notified when comments are added to your blog, enter a valid address here. You receive an e-mail once a visitor has added a comment.
Archive	From this drop-down list, you can choose whether to archive your blog entries monthly, weekly, or never.
Activate RSS feed	Check this box if you want to activate RSS feed on your blog. Read more about RSS... RSS is a system which allows users to subscribe to news from their favourite web sites. Normally specialised software is needed to read RSS. When you open your news aggregator, you will download news from the RSS feeds to which you are subscribed. In itslearning, you can either bookmark the RSS file in your browser or download it through a news aggregator. By using a news aggregator, you will receive the news from itslearning once it is updated. Popular RSS readers: Windows:Sharp Reader or FeedReader Mac OS X: NetNewsWire Linux:Straw
Who can access your blog	This setting decides who can see your blog. By default your blog is only visible to yourself. Each portfolio and the blog have their own access rules. The available options are: Only me: The blog is not available to others than yourself. Your courses and projects: The blog is available for the participants in your courses and projects. All users of this site: The blog is available for the users that belong to your site. Available on the Internet: The blog is available for everyone that can access the Internet.

In Settings and permissions you can edit the following settings:

Settings

• Start page:Select the ePortfolio start page from the drop-down list.
• Include: Select if you want to remove or include the blog and "About me" page in the ePortfolio.
• Skin: Click the thumbnail to change the appearance or "skin" of your ePortfolio.
• Enter short name: Enter a short name for your ePortfolio. This is a short name which is used in the ePortfolio URL.

External resources

• External links: Here you are allowed to add links from external pages. The links appears in the ePortfolio menu.

Access

• Who can access your ePortfolio?: Here you decide who can see this specific portfolio:
  • Only me: Visible to you only. No other users can see your portfolio.
  • Your courses and projects:Visible to participants in your courses and projects.
  • All users of this site: Visible to participants and users at your site.
  • Available on the Internet: Your portfolio is publicly available on the Internet.
• Use the above access settings for all my portfolios and blog: If you check this box, all your portfolios inherit the access settings you specified in Who can access your ePortfolio above.

Some schools, such as primary schools, may want to prevent learners from publishing their ePortfolios on the Internet. The system administrator can do this in the site profile settings:

1. Click the Admintab.
2. Click Profiles (Site).
3. Click the edit icon: below the Learner (Student) column header.
4. Under the heading "Profile functionality" there is a drop-down list behind "ePortfolio". Here you can select the setting "Yes (not public on the Internet)".
5. When you click Save the learners are not allowed to publish their ePortfolios on the Internet. Note: this affects all the learners on the site.
