Behaviour

The behaviour tool helps teachers and mentors to keep track of behaviour – both positive and negative. When enabled, behaviour tracking affects the following roles:

Behaviour is also available as content blocks for learners and parents.

Checklist

Before teachers and mentors can start keeping behaviour records, you must make sure that:

Administrators

Enabling or disabling behaviour functionality on a site

Administrators can select whether to enable or disable behaviour-tracking on a site, from Admin >> Edit global settings >> General. Check or uncheck Enable behaviour tracking to enable or disable this feature.

Behaviour types

Certain types of behaviour, such as 'bullying' or 'damage to property', are referred to as behaviour types. Behaviour types are managed under Admin >> Edit global settings >> Behaviour.

Weighting types

You can use a point- or icon-based system for weighting behaviour. If you use points, the lowest number indicates the poorest behaviour. The icons indicate either good or bad behaviour. If you are applying a scale exceeding five points, you cannot use the icon system. Change weighting type in Admin >> Edit global settings >> Behaviour >> settings cog wheel >> Settings

Terminology

The term 'Behaviour' and several other terms can also be changed in the settings.

Teachers

Teachers are allowed to indicate behaviour for each participant, and to view behaviour reports for the course or individual participants. Behaviour is kept track of under Status and follow‑up >> Behaviour in a course.

To add a new remark, click Add new.

Mentors

Mentors are allowed to see an overview of total behaviour marks for their group and individual learners, in addition to recording behaviour. Click the Mentor tab >> Behaviour. Mentors can also edit behaviour remarks submitted by the teacher.

What happens when the Complete term button is clicked?

Learners

Learners can view their behaviour status under the ePortfolio tab >> Behaviour.
